La Cocina de Ricardo  ·  Effective Date: EFFECTIVE_DATE

Overview

La Cocina de Ricardo (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website lacocinadericardo.com. We are a family-owned Mexican restaurant located in Lake Forest, California. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit our site, how it is used, and your rights as a California resident.

This site does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or session-recording tools.

What we do not do: We do not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar, or any other behavioral analytics or advertising tracking technology. We do not collect, sell, share, or rent your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Information You Provide

This website does not currently include a contact form, reservation form, or any other data-collection form. You may choose to contact us directly by email at info@lacocinadericardo.com or by phone at (949) 586-1477. Any information you voluntarily send us (such as your name or email) is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties.

Automatically Collected Information

Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server log data when you visit any page. This may include:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages viewed and timestamps
  • Referring URL (the page you came from)

This data is collected and retained by our web host for security, uptime monitoring, and abuse prevention. It is not linked to any personal profile and is not used for advertising.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Based on a live audit of this site conducted in May 2026, no third-party tracking cookies were found.

WordPress (the software that powers this site) may store a short-lived test cookie (wordpress_test_cookie) when the site loads to verify that your browser supports cookies. This cookie contains no personal data, is deleted at the end of your session, and is not used for tracking. WordPress also sets session cookies for registered users who are logged in to the administration area; these do not apply to regular visitors.

No cookie consent banner is displayed on this site because no behavioral tracking, advertising, or cross-site cookies are in use. If our technology stack changes, this policy will be updated accordingly.

Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are integrated into this website. Each may receive your IP address and basic browser data when their content loads or when you click to use their service.

Google Maps (Alphabet Inc.)

An embedded Google Maps panel appears on our homepage to show our restaurant location. When this map loads, your browser connects directly to Google’s servers, which may receive your IP address, browser type, and location-related data. Google may also set its own cookies through this embed.

Data transmitted: IP address, browser information, and approximate location if your browser shares it with Google.

WordPress.org Emoji CDN (s.w.org)

This site uses WordPress, which includes built-in emoji support. If emoji characters appear in page content, the emoji image files are loaded from WordPress.org’s content delivery network (s.w.org). This transmits your IP address to WordPress.org’s servers. This service does not set tracking cookies and is limited to functional emoji rendering.

Online Ordering & Delivery Platforms

Our site includes links to third-party ordering and delivery services — SpotOn (order.spoton.com), DoorDash, and Uber Eats. These are outbound hyperlinks: clicking them takes you to those companies’ own websites and away from lacocinadericardo.com. Any information you provide on those platforms is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.

How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information described above only to:

  • Respond to direct inquiries sent to our email address
  • Maintain the security and performance of this website
  • Display our restaurant location via the embedded map

We do not use any information collected through this website for advertising, behavioral profiling, or retargeting.

Data Retention

Server log files are retained by our hosting provider (WP Engine) for approximately 30–90 days for security and diagnostic purposes, then deleted. Emails and other direct communications you send us are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose of the communication, typically no longer than two years, unless a legal obligation requires a different period.

Data Security

This website is hosted on WP Engine, a managed WordPress hosting platform that provides server-level security including firewalls, automated malware scanning, and encrypted connections via HTTPS/TLS. While we take reasonable measures to protect any information processed through this site, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to avoid sending sensitive personal or financial information by email.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
